Description:
Bookdog is the premier Shepherd and Guardian of bookmarks for your
Macintosh. After you install Bookdog, you spend a few minutes adjusting
how you want your bookmarks sorted, click 'Sort' and within seconds
your bookmarks are all in order! Click 'Analyze' to find duplicates and
then fix them. Open the Preferences, activate Bookwatchdog, and your
bookmarks be re-sorted after you make changes. Automatically. Do you
seem to have alot of bookmarks that don't work anymore? Tell Bookdog to
Verify. He'll go to all your websites, fetch their data, present a
report, give you some options on how he can automatically fix bookmarks
that have been "redirected", and finally present a handy tool which
allows you to quickly review and fix the remainder. Using Camino,
Firefox, del.icio.us, Opera, Shiira 2.x, Google Bookmarks and/or
OmniWeb in addition to Safari? Bookdog knows how to handle del.icio.us
tags. When you tell him to Migrate your bookmarks between browsers, he
finds the right folder and avoids creating duplicates. You can migrate
unilaterally (one-way) or bilaterally, "synchronizing" all missing
bookmarks between browsers. And you can do so from an AppleScript or
schedule Migrations using Apple's Automator.
Atta boy! Finally, you see the intelligence you knew your Mac was
capable of!
What's new in
this version:
SUMMARY. Added support for Netscape Navigator and made several minor
improvements and fixes to the user interface.
* Added support for Netscape Navigator 9.
* In Main Window, when operating under
Mac OS 10.5, single-clicking selects an item and edits the text, and
double-clicking visits the indicated site. This is in conformance with
recent Apple user-interface recommendations for Leopard. When operating
under Mac OS 10.3 or 10.4, behavior is as before: Single-click to
select item, double-click to edit.
* Disabled the Save menu item for a
document while a Save is already in progress. (Clicking Save
while a Save is already in progress serves no purpose and can result in
Weird Stuff.)
* Added some hysteresis to the Tag Cloud
and Selected Item Tag Display in the Main Window, so that dragging does
not begin until a significant mouse movement has been made.
* Main Windows that have "split views"
(Tag Cloud on top) now remember the split position (height of each
half) when the document is closed and re-opened later, possibly after a
relaunch.
* When a new user obtains a trial or
purchased license and clicks "Save", this now results in only edited
bookmarks documents being saved instead of all bookmarks documents.
* Fixed bug which caused "Bookwatchdog
is running" to still be indicated in the Preferences >
Bookwatchdog window immediately after Bookwatchdog had in fact been
quit using the "Quit Bookwatchdog" menu item.
* Fixed bugs which somtimes caused a
small memory leak and also the barberpole progress bar at the bottom of
the Main Window to remain spinning if saving bookmarks failed for some
reason and user clicked Cancel.
* Fixed bug which could cause a crash or
failure while attempting to obtain a demo/trial license, if the
computer's network port hardware was malfunctioning or hacked.
