![]() fitPlot - 2.1 plotter pre-print to optimize time and paper savings (File Size: 3.0M) Current Version: 2.1 Release Date: 2007-11-16 License: Shareware Price: $7 Broken Link? Newer Version? Tell us! Product Description: fitPlot overview The goal of this application is simple: 1. place various pdfs (or other common graphic formats files such as jpg, tif, gif, eps, psd, image in the pasteBoard) on a virtual plotter sheet; 2. arrange all objects in a WYSIWYG environment moving and rotating them; 3. print the so arranged plotter sheet and eventually save it for later printings. Who may need this program? * CAD users that may have to print several small drawings or more copies of a small drawing, can save their print job as pdf then drop their result on a larger format sheet in fitPlot. * Print services may find in fitPlot a quick and tiny preprint application. It may be useful to prepare visually more copies of an image in the choosen plotter format sheet, optionally giving images trim marks, resizing, rotating etc.. * Web surfers who want a quick way to print found images. Keep an A4 (or Letter) format open aside while surfing on the web and drop on it the images I want to print. Easy and fast. I know this can be done with blazoned vectorial applications, but here we have a small program that just do it, nothing less, nothing more. You can set plotter sheets sizes choosing from the page formats popup in the page setup menu where you can create your own paper sizes in the usual way other Mac applications does. In addition you can set the page margins characteristic of any printer / plotter and have a visual check of what is eventually out of the print area. The 1.1 version is a full document based application. Now you can save your work for later printing. Now you can save and collect your models (templates) to easy retrieve them. A new template file architecture enables you to prepare as many format as you want for any printer/plotter to have them quickly at your disposal (avoiding to call the page setup each time you need a new sheet format). Undo / redo is now available for all objects operations. The program is shareware. A watermark will be printed on the center of the sheet unless you request the password to avoid this. What's new in this version: Improvements and bugs solved in this maintenance version. * Pasteboard images saved. Until this version, images pasted in FitPlot from other programs were not saved to disk and lived until the document was closed, being impossible to found them again on the disk due to the nonexistent path. This problem has been solved this way: Each time a pasteboard image is pasted (or dropped from another app, like a browser, for example), the program acts according to what you decide in the preferences dialog. Specifically you have three choices: o Ask each time how to behave: a dialog shows up a message telling if you want to save to disk the image just pasted / dropped. If you answer NO the image is imported, but it has not corresponding file on the disk. If you answer YES, a further dialog lets you save the image on the disk where you want and with the name you are invited to assign. o Save automatically in: pasting / dropping an image, in this case, do not shows any dialog, but the image is saved in the directory chosen in the preferences (the desktop by default), with an automatic name and path assigned in the preferences panel o Never ask, never save: in this case, the program acts as in version 2.0 and previous. Images from pasteboard are imported, but their link (nonexistent) will force the program to load the broken link image when the document is saved and reopened. * Use of symbolic link. Imported images are now referenced with the utomatic use of alias, so an image imported in a FitPlot document should be always trackable, even if moved some other place on the same disk. * New styles. Styles has been deeply revised. Now you can choose to have trims, shadow, transparency (on pdf, tiffs with mask, png with transparency), dashes and strokes of various flavours on each image. * New tools. Added the cut, copy, paste, duplicate, open, save, new, undo, redo tools. And more: o added the tool insert (to insert an image browsing the disk, instead of the drag and drop way). o added the duplicate matrix tool: to reproduce one (or even more) images in rows x columns at user distance (x and y). * GUI enhancements. Now the program use menu and tools validations. Menus and tools are enabled / disabled according with the what you can do in that moment. * Bug fixing. Undoing after an object movement (with snap to grid on), caused the object to be repositioned slightly distant from where it was. Now it works correctly!
