I needed a fast, clean and easy to use word processor which opens in the middle of the screen. I don't like the behaviour of other word processors you first have to center on the screen. Three years later Schreiben is still my favorite application and because other developers let me learn from their code, I did not use Word for years now. Schreiben is based on the Cocoa Text System - so you can open and write RichText and Word Files. You can create tables, drop and resize pictures or even write XML. Schreiben has got an integrated statistic (Character, Words, Lines) so you won't miss your editors (teachers, etc.) defaults, you can store often used Snippets and AutoSave documents.
